Deshaun Watson‘s future with the Houston Texans appears all but over at this point, which means the New York Jets rumors will heat up.
Are New York Jets fans actually ready? The early returns suggest no, that they’re not ready for the true conversation to begin. At least those who suggest Joe Douglas must do anything in his power to acquire Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson aren’t quite ready for the real conversation.
There’s a correct price for everything and everybody in the NFL, and this includes the stud quarterback. But hey, it certainly appears that his future in Houston is all but over at this point, allowing the conversation to at least commence.
On Sunday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter decided to take the conversation from a 6 and ramp it up to a 10.
There is a growing sense from people in and around the Texans’ organization that Deshaun Watson has played his last snap for the team. It’s early in the off-season, there’s a lot of time left, but Watson’s feelings cannot and should not be underestimated.

Watson, 25, voiced his frustration with the organization this past week. It began on Jan. 15 when Watson told the world he took his “2” and amped it up to a “10.”
I was on 2 then I took it to 10

On Instagram, Friday, he positively responded to a picture of him wearing a San Francisco 49ers uniform by saying, “Dope pic!”
The grumblings began when the Texans reportedly did not include Watson in some of the key offseason decisions. Schefter reported that Houston told its star quarterback that he’d be involved in the general manager and head-coaching searches, only to never receive a call.
Watson wanted his team to interview two specific candidates, Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and now-Jets head coach Robert Saleh, per Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio. The Texans invited neither man for an interview.
This, naturally, has ramped up the Watson-to-the-Jets rumors. Many pundits, including NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah, somebody who’s close to Douglas, believes the Jets are positioned well.
If Watson became available via trade, the Jets should call. You could trade 2nd pick this year (they still have 23rd pick), 1st in 2022 (They have 2) & 1st in 2023. That’s 3 first round picks. They could pickup extra pick/picks if they traded Sam. (My gift to sports radio)

If all of that wasn’t enough, Schefter dropped a late-Sunday afternoon bomb in which it’s believed Watson has played his final game for the Texans.

The conversation will only heat up from this point forward.
