Third-year defender Quinnen Williams took to TikTok to “bless” New York Jets fans with a timely reminder of his drafting.
With the NFL draft conversation reaching its peak, Quinnen Williams got in on the phone by reminding New York Jets fans about his own selection.
In a side-by-side showing on TikTok, Williams recreated his renowned post-draft interview on NFL Network, where he sneezed and subsequently blessed and thanked himself.
@thequinnenwilliams Y’all don’t even know 😂😂😂😂
It was one of two videos that served as Williams’ introduction to the short video social network. In another, Williams feigns knocking on a screen to the tune of Kanye West and Jamie Foxx’s “Gold Digger” before brandishing a smile with two friends flanking him from behind.
The modern Williams, now free of the braces that braced his teeth during the 2019 draft proceedings, struggles to contain his laughter as he recreates his first viral moment on the professional level. His captions include laughing and crying emojis.
Williams’ senses of joy and humor are some of the few things that remain unchanged from his selection day back in the spring of 2019. When his name was called third overall on that Nashville evening, many wondered if the Jets made the right move, passing on other defenders like Josh Allen and Ed Oliver.
Williams enjoyed a breakthrough sophomore season (55 tackles, 10 for a loss, 7 sacks) that ensured that his iconic interview would be only the first of many memorable moments during his time as a Jet.
New head coach Robert Saleh plans to make sure that list only continues to grow.
“I’m really excited to get the seatbelt off his harness and let him go in this scheme, to get him going vertical, to get all that mass moving in the direction that it needs to go,” Saleh said in his introductory statements, per notes provided by the Jets. “He’s got to do his part and put in the work, but everything I know about him and everything that we’ve studied with regards to draft and what I’ve heard here is he’s going to be up to the task, and can’t wait to see what he does.”

The Jets will choose in the second slot of 2021’s first round—one choice ahead of the one they took Williams in—when the draft commences on April 29 in Cleveland.
