New York Jets’ newly-signed linebacker Jarrad Davis is loaded with potential, but his play has been incredibly inconsistent.
When the news broke that the New York Jets had signed linebacker Jarrad Davis, most fans needed to quickly hit Google.
Who? Ashtyn Davis is already in town and wide receiver Corey Davis came a little later. Who is this Jarrad Davis fella and what does he do?
Well, in short, Jarrad Davis is a guy loaded with potential who simply hasn’t yet put it all together. He’s just the latest in a long line of younger high draft picks who Joe Douglas snagged on the open market.
Drafted 21st in the 2017 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions, Davis hasn’t exactly shined in the Motor City. In fact, the kid started just four games a year ago (playing 14 total).
In New Jersey, Davis is expected to slide into Robert Saleh‘s SAM spot—with what’s currently on the roster. The physical attributes are apparent, but his instincts oftentimes leave a lot to be desired.
Blewett’s Blitz takes on the Jets’ newest linebacker in the latest episode. Do the New York Jets have something with this guy, or will this turn out to be a Joe Douglas swing and miss?
