Jets X-Factor has video from the New York Jets’ organized team activities in Florham Park, including some of Zach Wilson’s first throws in green.
Organized team activities have resumed in Florham Park, as members of the New York Jets have taken to the fields of One Jets Drive for late spring practices.
The star attraction was of course Zach Wilson, the team’s new franchise quarterback. Wilson had a mostly successful day during the team’s red zone period, finding Tyler Kroft for a touchdown on the opening down, but another pass deflected into the arms of the wrong Michael Carter – Michael Carter II, the cornerback, not the running back.

Wilson did recover with further touchdowns to Elijah Moore and Braxton Berrios. Fringe receivers like Berrios and Vyncint Smith each earned extended opportunities on Wednesday with several regulars and newcomers sitting out. Jamison Crowder did not partake, while Corey Davis and Denzel Mims each sat out due to injuries.
Overall, Wilson had five attempts during the red zone drill. Though he earned three touchdowns, rookie defenders also rose to the occasion. Jason Pinnock had a deflection while free agent Isaiah Dunn tore away another potential touchdown from D.J. Montgomery.
Red zone, Zach Wilson finds Braxton Berrios for the score. Then the same to Elijah Moore. Both were quick, timing plays with nice route-running. No. 8’s route-running is phenomenal for a rook.

Wilson finished the 7-on-7 RZ drill with five attempts. All three went for TDs (Kroft, Moore, Berrios). One was a near INT & the other ripped out of receiver DJ Montgomery’s hands (Dunn the defender) #Jets

Carter II was one of the biggest stars of Wednesday’s proceedings, working with the starting unit for most of the day.
Later during an 11-on-11 drill, Wilson completed 3-of-3 passes, finding fellow rookies Moore and Carter – the latter being the rusher this time around.
Really nice set of 11-on-11 tor Wilson against starting D, capped by a pretty touch pass on wheel route to Michael Carter. Went 3-for-3 on passes, including a deep curl to Moore.
Wilson has a cannon, but it’s not fastball every time. Knows when to throw change up #Jets

Elsewhere on defense, new acquisition Lamarcus Joyner earned an interception from Mike White.
Mike White just threw a ball but it was picked by Lamarcus Joyner #Jets
All you heard was “yeahhhhhhhhhhh” by the Defense.
He caught that pick because they were playing Young thug in the background tbh

While Wednesday’s practice was well attended, other notable absences included Marcus Maye, and Quinnen Williams (the latter still working off an injury suffered during an on-field workout on Florham Park). Mekhi Becton was likewise absent, but his fellow blindside blocker Alijah Vera-Tucker was on hand, working with the other offensive linemen.
