Just a few weeks separate the New York Jets from training camp. Just a few weeks separate Jets fans from live football—something that hasn’t been experienced in person (in New Jersey) in quite some time.
What that means is a whole lot, especially for many of the incoming rookies who’ll be battling for a job.
Remember, this just isn’t football; it’s an arena that allows livelihoods to be put up for grabs—a true meritocracy at its finest.
Blewett’s Blitz Live is back to dive into the anticipated roster battles expected to commence at Jets camp this summer.
Among those battles is the running back spot that’ll feature rookie Michael Carter and others. Veteran Tevin Coleman is the other new guy in a room that sees La’Mical Perine and Ty Johnson returning.
Cornerback is another one of those groups that should put on an unpredictable show. Although Bryce Hall seems to be locked into that No. 1 spot, nobody knows what the future holds.
Linebacker is another one to keep an eye on. C.J. Mosley’s health and returning presence is the key at the top, but a bunch of youngsters are looking to claim the starting WILL spot opposite newcomer Jarrad Davis.
