Colin Cowherd has the NY Jets finishing a distant fourth in the AFC East and compared Zach Wilson to Cleveland washout Johnny Manziel.

The New York Jets have a new head coach and franchise quarterback. But, unlike his celebration of Adam Gase’s arrival, Colin Cowherd isn’t in the market for AFC title game tickets this time around.

The Fox Sports host unveiled his AFC East predictions on his show this week, and he doesn’t have many nice things to say about the Jets. Cowherd claims that Gang Green will be the only team with a losing record amongst the quartet.

Cowherd also predicted that second-overall pick and new franchise tentpole Zach Wilson will have trouble adjusting to the professional game.

“The Jets, I think, will be mostly a mess,” Cowherd claims in a video shared by DJ Bien-Aime of the New York Daily News. “I do not believe in Zach Wilson.”

Cowherd, bestowing the Jets a 5-12 record for the first 17-game season, goes on to compare Wilson to Johnny Manziel, the former Cleveland Browns quarterback and 2014 first-round draft pick that lasted only two seasons in the NFL due to inconsistency and attitude issues.

Manziel has more recently played in the CFL and AAF and spent the past year in the Fan Controlled Football league.

“I think he is the one quarterback out of the draft I have questions about. I see a lot of Johnny Manziel. I see a little bit of arrogance.

“I see a smaller athlete who can make plays off schedule, but this roster,” Cowherd continues. “Though they’ve improved significantly on the offensive line because of the last two drafts … Joe Douglas, GM, has done a very good job…I don’t see the kind of playmakers you need.”

For their part, Jets fans on social media have taken Cowherd’s comments in stride, instead wearing his doubt as a badge of honor.

Cowherd had previously been confident about the Jets following their hiring of Adam Gase.

The Herd airs weekdays at 12 p.m. ET on FS1.

If you’ve ever spent any time listening to him Coherd seems like an intelligent guy, then goes off really hard, standing on his high horse, about sports he’s obviously never played and topics he doesn’t totally all about, although he thinks he does. He’s a total narcissist, self absorbed, self important, person who always thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room. He is NOT! I’ve heard him talk out his ass about things he obviously knows little about. This is just another one of those instances. One to be taken with a grain of salt and disregarded.
