Julio Jones, A.J. Brown to miss battle with New York Jets
The New York Jets might have finally come across a team that’s more star-crossed on the injury front than they are.
Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel announced on Friday that his team will be missing receivers A.J. Brown and Julio Jones when they face the Jets on Sunday afternoon at MetLife Stadium (1 p.m. ET, CBS).
Per Mike Vrabel, #Titans WRs Julio Jones and A.J. Brown are both out vs. the #Jets on Sunday. Brett Kern and Caleb Farley as well.

Each of the Titans’ top wide receivers left their prior contest against Indianapolis with hamstring issues. They have united for 296 yards on 19 receptions in the early going.
In their absence, it’s likely that star offensive attraction Derrick Henry will take on an even bigger role in the opposing offense. Henry has had 72 touches over the last two games including a career-high 35 rushing attempts in the Titans’ Week 2 win over Seattle.

The Titans’ top receivers without Brown and Jones are likely set to be Chester Rogers, Josh Reynolds, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.
In addition to Brown and Jones, the Titans’ expansive injury report also includes outside linebacker Bud Dupree (knee) and cornerback Caleb Farley (shoulder), as well as punter Brett Kern (groin). Tennessee has already added punter Johnny Townsend to account for the loss of Kern’s leg.
With the Titans reeling from injuries, the Jets (0-3) are set to welcome back some reinforcements despite the medical departures of several regulars. While they’ll be missing receiver Elijah Moore and safety Marcus Maye, the team will welcome back safety Ashtyn Davis and wide receiver Jamison Crowder.
Head coach Robert Saleh also confirmed that sophomore receiver Denzel Mims would return to the field after two straight games as a healthy scratch.
