Fantasy football Week 10 waiver wire pickups: Elijah Moore, Ty Johnson emerge

New York Jets receiver Elijah Moore and running back Ty Johnson lead the fantasy football Week 10 waiver wire pickups.

Navigating the waiver wire is incredibly important to fantasy football success. Each week, Jets X-Factor dives into the waiver wire for the must-adds to your fantasy football team.

Unfortunately, Mike White (a name highlighted last week) was injured in Thursday’s game. Given how Josh Johnson played in relief, however, it’s safe to say White would have done a great job for fantasy football purposes.

Let’s dive into Week 10.

All roster percentages are from Yahoo Sports.

Quarterback

Matt Ryan (56% Rostered)

Matt Ryan has had an up and down season. With injuries and other circumstances surrounding the team, Ryan has been the one constant.

He delivered in Week 9, and against the Dallas Cowboys, he should be required to throw often as well. He’s worth a start in Week 10.

Running Back

Devonta Freeman (22% Rostered)

In the last three games, Devonta Freeman has averaged over 10 fantasy points per game. With all the injuries to Baltimore’s backfield, it’s been Freeman who’s been taking over lead duties.

On Thursday he gets a matchup against a struggling Dolphins team. Freeman should be rolling in that game as a solid RB2/Flex option.

Ty Johnson (13% Rostered)

Despite Michael Carter getting more opportunities as the season’s gone on, Ty Johnson has made the most of his. He’s scored 10+ points in the last four games he’s played.

He seems to have a knack for the endzone. Despite Buffalo being the worst team to face against running backs, Johnson should have some opportunity to warrant a Flex play.

Jordan Howard (15% Rostered)

With Miles Sanders out, Howard has been the short-yardage and goal-line back for the Eagles. He’s scored touchdowns in back-to-back games and should continue to have a good role this week.

The Broncos are a tough task, but I wouldn’t be shocked to see him find the end zone once again.

Wide Receiver

Elijah Moore (27% Rostered)

Last week may have been Elijah Moore‘s breakout game, as the rookie caught 7 passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns. He’s had over 10 points in back-to-back weeks.

With Corey Davis dealing with a hip injury, it’s likely Moore becomes the focus of the Jets passing offense once again.

Rashod Bateman (36% Rostered)

Another rookie on the list, Rashod Bateman has been heavily involved in the Ravens’ passing attack since his return from injury.

He’s had at least six targets in his last three games and scored 10+ points in his last two. On a short week, he could be a player flying under the radar on Thursday night.

Tight End

Logan Thomas (54% Rostered)

Logan Thomas is returning from IR, as WFT faces the Buccaneers in Week 10. The tight end position is heavily utilized in Washington’s offense, as we saw Ricky Seals-Jones have fantasy relevance during Thomas’ absence.

Thomas should slide right back into TE1 usage immediately and needs to be added in all formats.

Pat Freiermuth (41% Rostered)

Another rookie on the list? After back-to-back weeks of great games, the hype can’t be contained on Freiermuth. He’s seemingly taken the vacant targets left by JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Ben Roethlisberger seems to trust him in the red zone.

He’s essentially becoming Heath Miller 2.0. He’s worth an add in all formats in an extremely barren TE landscape.
