Nick Mangold is fed up with the New York Giants
Former New York Jets center Nick Mangold has been one of the team’s most iconic players of the 21st century. Whether his golden locks have appeared on the field or at a tailgate, Jets fans have universally loved Mangold since he was drafted.
As a Jets legend, it seems fitting that it was the team’s cross-town rivals who decided to screw him over this past Sunday.
Mangold shared on Twitter that he played a 12-team parlay with +221351 odds. On a mere $25 bet, Mangold had the opportunity to win over $55,000.
Unfortunately, one of the first games to finish on Sunday killed a dream that eventually came within inches of becoming a reality.
Mangold picked the New York Giants (+11) to cover the spread in a road game against Philadelphia. Things looked good in the first half with the teams knotted at 3-3 entering the break.
However, after a slow start, the Eagles got rolling and scored on all but their last possession. In the second half, the Giants were outscored 31-7, ending Mangold’s unlikely parlay.
Mangold’s hatred only proceeded to grow as the day went on and the rest of his parlay hit. Even the Chicago Bears were able to cover the spread against the Seattle Seahawks and help the Jets’ draft pick.

The hate for the Giants likely started earlier for Mangold.
A year after being selected 29th overall, Mangold and the Jets lost to the Giants 35-24 in 2007, his first meeting with Big Blue.
Mangold took another heartbreaking loss to the Giants on Christmas Eve in 2011, which effectively began the Jets’ 11-year playoff drought and kick-started the Giants’ run to a Super Bowl title.
The Ohio State product would get revenge before hanging up his helmet, helping the Jets pull out a 23-20 overtime victory over the Giants in 2015.

While it is a devastating loss for Mangold, he shouldn’t be too worried about the missed profit. Over his 11-year career in New York, Mangold earned a whopping $48.2 million, per Spotrac.
Regardless, don’t expect to see Mangold placing another bet on the Giants anytime soon.
