Jets QB Zach Wilson felt the intensity of Madison Square Garden Sunday night
Many would argue that the New York Rangers just won their fifth game in a seven-game series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Hey, it’s tough to win 5 games in a 7-game series, and the #NYR just did that.
Tip of the cap to Crosby and Sullivan.
Happy to see Panarin on the PP GWG, but man, K’Andre in a penalty shot situation would have been great theater.

Zach Wilson could easily claim that he attended the best game of the seven—a 4-3 Rangers victory that saw Artemi Panarin walk the team off in heroic sudden-death fashion.

Wilson, 22, attended the game with teammate Braxton Berrios, and what a game it was.
A year after then-rookie Wilson, along with the beer-chugging Dan Feeney and Long Island native Greg Van Roten, attended a couple of New York Islanders playoff games, the New York Jets quarterback experienced what Madison Square Garden has to offer during Stanley Cup Playoff time.
Down 3-2 late in the third period, The Garden faithful were on pins and needles, hoping for the equalizer. Once Mika Zibanejad’s one-timed rocket beat Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry high short side, the stage was set for an outburst of epic proportions in sudden-death overtime.
That’s exactly what Wilson, Berrios and Rangers fans received:

Wilson can be spotted high-fiving Berrios and each Rangers fan near him, per his Instagram Story.
Jets players bonding off the ice is nothing new. The moment Robert Saleh was hired represented the subtle turning point in this regard.
As previously stated, a good chunk of the team took to Isles playoff games a year ago. And although Wilson and Berrios seemingly went on a two-man adventure Sunday night, many would say that the Jets quarterback has now experienced one of the finest fan moments in sports: a Rangers playoff overtime victory at The Garden, in a Game 7 situation no less.
The thrilling 4-3 victory officially completes the Rangers’ 3-1 series comeback and propels them into the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs—where the Carolina Hurricanes await.
As far as Zach Wilson and the New York Jets are concerned, fans are hoping some of this playoff magic will eventually rub off onto the soon-to-be sophomore NFL quarterback.
