Even in the year 2022, Madden NFL still has a long way to go when it comes to making accurate faces. New York Jets receiver Braxton Berrios is one of their latest victims.
Death, taxes, and a fresh new batch of completely inaccurate face renderings in the latest “Madden” video game.
We are in the third year of the third decade of the 21st century, and yet, EA Sports is still struggling to create accurate models for NFL players in its flagship sports game. One of their most glaring bunglings in the new “Madden NFL 23” is the face of New York Jets wide receiver Braxton Berrios.
I mean… this is just outrageous. Take a look.
Yoooooooo @HNYNUT_BERRIOS 🤣🤣🤣🤣 no shot 🤣🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/52D5pKHhRI

Berrios himself commented on the atrocious design, calling it “egregious”.
This is egregious 😂 https://t.co/HFuBWKyH8m

Unless I missed the news that Berrios just returned from a 20-year time-traveling excursion and is now 46 years old, he is still 26. So… why did Madden make him look like a middle-aged dad who regrets his life decisions?
That’s not even the primary issue here. The number one crime is that this rendering looks nothing like Braxton Berrios.
Braxton Berrios says the hair color/style was a fun thing for camp that he actually likes.
But he acknowledged the Eminem jokes have been non-stop. #Jets pic.twitter.com/A0KNAKz04x

They could have at least given him his new Slim Shady-style blonde hair, but nope, they didn’t even try to do that.
Berrios is not the only Jets receiver whose face was botched by the Madden team. Elijah Moore was given a face that looks like a carbon copy of defensive tackle Nathan Shepherd.

Yikes. Come on, EA.
