Reviewing the film from New York Jets’ statement win over the Green Bay Packers

After three weeks in Italy, I’m back to the film-review grind. What happened since I’ve been gone? I’ll tell you what happened: the New York Jets just won their third game in a row!

It all started with a comeback win against the Steelers in Pittsburgh, after being down 10 points in the fourth quarter. The national media brushed off the win with “The Jets beat a backup QB” – while ignoring the Jets forced the Steelers to bench their starter after Mike Tomlin hyped him up all week (and that the Jets had to use their own backup QB for the first three games).

The full, member-only Jets-Packers film breakdown (2:52:05 in length) can be found at the bottom of this article (must be a Jets X-Factor member and logged into the site).

In Week 5, the Jets blew out the division rival Miami Dolphins by a score of 40-17. We again heard, “The Jets beat another backup QB”. That is true, but do either of Tua Tagovailoa or Teddy Bridgewater make a 23-point difference? They don’t.

Week 6 sent the Jets into Lambeau Field, where they were heavy underdogs against a future Hall-of-Fame quarterback in Aaron Rodgers and a Packers team that most view as a playoff lock.

Jet fans heard all week that this is their first “legit” test: a team who has won 15 games in a row at home. We also heard that they are very tough to beat after a loss, which they suffered in the previous week against the New York Giants in London.

Fast forward to the Jets drubbing the Packers by a score of 27-10, led by a dominating run game, key special team plays and a defense that harassed the Packers offense on all three levels.

It’s time to review the game film to see how it all went down.

  • How did the Jets pull off the upset?
  • Did Zach Wilson struggle as much as some think?
  • Just how good was the defensive front?
  • Is the offensive line starting to gel?
  • What’s going on with Elijah Moore?

These questions and many more are answered on this edition of Blewett’s Blitz!
