New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills spread, odds

  • New York Jets: +11.5 (-112)
  • Buffalo Bills: -11.5 (-108)

All Odds via Fanduel Sportsbook

The New York Jets come into Week 9 as 11.5-point home underdogs to the 6-1 Buffalo Bills. The line opened at +13.5 earlier in the week and has been bet down in the Jets’ direction to +11.5 as we get closer to Sunday.

New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills moneyline

  • New York Jets: +460
  • Buffalo Bills: -620

The Jets are looking to snap a four-game losing streak to the Buffalo Bills this Sunday at MetLife Stadium. It will certainly be a big task for this young Jets team to go up against one of the most talented and well-coached teams in the NFL.

The Bills enter Week 9 occupying the top seed in the AFC and are the Super Bowl favorites at every sportsbook. They are dominant in all three phases of the game and can exploit you in many different ways.

My biggest key for the Jets to win this game is the pass rush getting after Josh Allen.

The Bills are leading the league in yards per game at 430.6 and passing yards per game at 307.7. Josh Allen can beat you through the air or on the ground.

New York’s offense most likely can not keep up with the Bills’ offense, especially going up against an incredibly tough Bills defense. However, if the Jets’ defense can pressure Josh Allen into making a few mistakes and giving the Jets’ offense a shorter field, it could lead to this game being closer than people think.

New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills over-under

  • New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills over-under: 45.5
  • Over: -115
  • Under: -105

Similar to what I wrote in the opening line report, I still lean toward the under in this game specifically because I think both defenses are just really good. This Bills defense is leading the NFL in almost every category on defense and the Jets’ defense is probably the biggest reason they are 5-3.

Both defenses are getting after the passer, making it difficult for opposing quarterbacks to run their offense. I think that will continue this week for the Bills as the Jets are missing a few key players on their offensive line. The same could be said for the Jets as their defensive line has been wreaking havoc all year.

New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills injuries

The Jets have ruled out wide receiver Corey Davis against the Bills with a knee injury. Davis has been listed as day-to-day but will miss his second consecutive game. Defensive end Jermaine Johnson will return this week after missing three games with an ankle injury. Everyone else on the injury report should be good to go for the Jets this week.

Buffalo has ruled out All-Pro safety Jordan Poyer with an elbow injury. Von Miller did not practice Wednesday and Thursday but was a full participant in Friday’s practice and will play against the Jets. Linebacker Matt Milano suffered an oblique injury in last week’s win over the Green Bay Packers and is questionable for Sunday.
