NFL odds, picks, lines, spreads for Week 13: Bet on the AFC East

Another week has passed in the flying NFL season as we are already entering Week 14.

We have plenty of interesting games on deck this week, highlighted by some divisional games with plenty of playoff-seeding drama. The New York Jets head to Buffalo to take on the Bills while the Eagles travel up the New Jersey Turnpike to square off with the New York Giants at Metlife Stadium. The NFL slate continues to produce great games and this week should be no different.

Let’s take a look at the NFL lines and our best bets for Week 14.

NFL Best Bets

New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills enter Week 14 with the top spot in the AFC after getting some help last week. The Bills are probably the most talented team in the NFL and are the Super Bowl favorite at most sportsbooks.

However, they have not been playing up to that standard the last few weeks. They have been in some close games as their defense has not been as sharp as expected at the start of the season.

The Jets’ defense can keep this one close on its own. In their Week 9 win over the Buffalo Bills, the Jets’ defense held Buffalo to only 17 points. Josh Allen completed only 53% of his passes for 205 yards and two interceptions. That was Allen’s second-lowest passing yard total all season. The Jets’ defensive line brought pressure all game and I expect that to happen again Sunday.

The weather for Sunday in Buffalo does not look very appealing. They are calling for periods of rain and snow with the temperature being in the high 30s. Mike White played very well in the rain during the Jets’ win over the Chicago Bears in Week 12, throwing three touchdowns with 315 passing yards.

With this type of weather, it could cause the game to be low scoring which is the perfect time to back an almost double-digit underdog.

The play: New York Jets +9.5

New England Patriots @ Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have been one of the most disappointing teams this season. After starting the year 7-0 last season, the Cardinals have won just 8 of their last 23 games.

Arizona head coach Kliff Kingsbury is notorious for late-season collapses. In 2019, the Cardinals finished the season losing seven of their last nine games. During the 2020 season, they lost five of their last seven. In 2021, they lost five of their last six games.

The Patriots’ defense presents a big disadvantage to the Cardinal offense. New England does everything on defense pretty well. The Patriots allow the ninth-fewest yards through the air at 200.6 and the 11th-fewest on the ground at 111.2. They also have the third-most sacks in the NFL with 39.

I also love backing Bill Belichick with extended time to rest and prepare. The Patriots are going from Thursday to Monday giving them 11 days to prepare.

I think the Patriots’ offense will be able to do enough to win this game.

The play: New England Patriots -1.5
