New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks spread, odds
- New York Jets: -1.5
- Seattle Seahawks: +1.5
All odds via FanDuel Sportsbook
The New York Jets are 1.5-point road favorites over the Seattle Seahawks. Both teams enter this game with their playoff chances still alive but have been slumping for the last month.
New York has lost four in a row and five of the last six games while Seattle has now lost three consecutive contests and five of the last six. It will be a massive win for whoever ends up coming out on top for their playoff chances.
New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks moneyline
- New York Jets: -130
- Seattle Seahawks: +110
Originally, the Jets opened as -105 on the moneyline, but that was with the anticipation of Zach Wilson starting. With Mike White cleared for contact and in line to start on Sunday, the Jets’ moneyline odds have shifted to -130.
I think the Jets should be favorites in this game, even if they have to travel across the country. With White starting at quarterback, they are a much better team. In White’s three starts, he has thrown for 317.3 yards per game. The offense as a whole performed much better with White as they averaged 420.3 yards per game.
It feels like the Jets’ defense has taken a step back in the last few weeks. That can be attributed to the Jets’ defense bending but not breaking. In the last two weeks, they have given up 362 yards per game but only one touchdown in each game. Entering both of those games, the Jaguars and Lions have been two of the hottest offenses in the NFL.
I think the Jets win a close one and keep their playoff hopes alive.
New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks over-under
- New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks over-under: 43.5
- Over: -110
- Under: -110
At first glance, I think this game goes over the total. The Jets have shown they can move the ball and score points with Mike White under center. Seattle also has the playmakers to score and has been in plenty of shootouts all year.
Seattle is giving up 25.3 points per game which is fourth-worst in the NFL. They also give up the fourth most yards per game in the NFL at 373.4. This should be a favorable matchup for the White and the Jets offense.
The Seahawks’ offense presents a strong challenge for New York’s defense. They rank 10th in points per game and 11th in passing yards per game. Seattle has weapons all over this offense and could score in bunches.
I anticipate this game going over the total.
New York Jets @ Seattle Seahawks injuries
The Jets got great news on the injury front as Mike White has been cleared for contact and should start on Sunday. WR Denzel Mims (concussion) and Jeff Smith (knee) missed last week’s loss to Jacksonville and will be re-evaluated as we get closer to Sunday. Lamarcus Joyner (hip) was limited all last week but his injury significance is unknown at this time.
Tyler Lockett (hand) missed last week’s game but could be available for Sunday vs. the Jets. Al Woods (Achilles) and Ryan Neal (knee) were also held out last week.
