Sauce Gardner makes enticing pitch for Aaron Rodgers to join Jets

Aaron Rodgers will want to consider Sauce Gardner’s pitch to join the New York Jets

Woody Johnson, Robert Saleh, Joe Douglas, and Nathaniel Hackett are on their way to California to meet with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While it does not appear that Sauce Gardner will be part of the band in California, that has not precluded the All-Pro cornerback from making his pitch to Rodgers.

On Twitter, Gardner tagged Rodgers and said, “I promise if you become a Jet, I won’t pick you off in practice & I’ll burn the cheesehead”.

This has to be an extremely enticing pitch for Rodgers. As he enters the bloodthirsty New York media market, every single throw he makes in practice will be heavily scrutinized. If he throws even one interception on the practice field in Florham Park, he’ll have to make a five-minute monologue on The Pat McAfee Show to explain why it was not a sign that he is washed up. Gardner’s offer will protect Rodgers from such a dreadful fate.

As for Gardner’s famous cheesehead, I’m not sure why Rodgers would care whether it remains structurally intact, but I guess it can be considered a tossed-in seventh-round pick in this offer.

The first-rounder in this package is Gardner’s promise to make Rodgers look as good as possible in practice. We know Rodgers is highly cognizant of his public image, so this proposal from the best cornerback in the NFL could be the final straw that pushes Rodgers to join the Jets.

C.J. Uzomah does not believe Gardner will hold up his end of the bargain if Rodgers comes to New York. Uzomah claims Gardner will jump the first route he can. However, Uzomah does believe Gardner will burn the cheesehead, as promised.

Gardner is not the only Jet who has been pushing for Rodgers on Twitter. Breece Hall and Mekhi Becton joined the fun.

All kidding aside, there is not a whole lot of note to be taken from these tweets, but at the very least, it is definitely interesting that four players on the team are openly discussing a player from another team on social media. Do they know something?
