Klecko candidly joked about wishing he played in today’s league to take advantage of the rising salaries. The Jets’ 1977 sixth-round pick compared his once-position-leading $700K salary to Aaron Donald’s current position-leading salary of $31.7 million, joking how his “entire salary was [Donald’s] point seven.”

As a franchise, the New York Jets have enjoyed a nice run of recognition in Canton over the past few years. Back in 2020, 14-year Jets left tackle Winston Hill was posthumously inducted, and in 2019, eight-year Jets center Kevin Mawae was inducted. Short-term Jets such as Alan Faneca (2021), Ed Reed (2019), Ty Law (2019), LaDainian Tomlinson (2017), and Jason Taylor (2017) have also been inducted recently.
