The trolling continues between Packers OT David Bakhtiari and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers
Despite no longer playing for the Packers, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers remains in contact with many people in Green Bay. We’ve seen Rodgers give a welcome gift to Sean Clifford, the Packers’ rookie quarterback who now owns the locker once used by Rodgers in Green Bay. We’ve also seen plenty of trolling between Rodgers and his close friend, Packers OT David Bakhtiari.
So it came as no surprise when the latter recently threw another playful jab at the Jets quarterback.
Speaking to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Packers’ veteran left tackle was asked how the team’s offense would look different now that Rodgers is no longer in the mix. Bakhtiari didn’t hesitate to use that opening to throw some shade at one of his closest friends.
The 31-year-old joked that the Packers could now run more RPO concepts with Jordan Love under center because Rodgers is “slow as s***” and the Packers “actually have a quarterback who can move around.”
The comment comes just a few days after Rodgers jokingly tagged Bakhtiari in an interesting location on his Instagram story.

Clearly, the friendship remains close despite no longer being teammates.
As for Rodgers, Jets fans are hoping he can pull a fast one over on Father Time and get back to MVP form. While Bakhtiari’s comment about Rodgers may have been tongue-in-cheek, there is some truth to it.
Rodgers’ declining mobility not only caused a hit on his pure running metrics last year (career-low 5.5 rushing YPG), but it affected his passing, too. Per Steven Ruiz, Rodgers’ success rate on throws made outside of the pocket decreased nearly ten percentage points from 2021 to 2022.
