3 New York Jets prop bets to make before Week 1 vs. Buffalo Bills

After a long but exciting offseason for the New York Jets, the regular season is finally here.

New York kicks off the season by hosting the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 11, 2023. In what looks to be an exciting season, Gang Green will look to get off on the right foot in front of the entire country on Monday Night Football.

Let’s take a look at a few season-long prop bets for the New York Jets.

New York Jets To Make Playoffs (-134)

While the AFC is as stacked as a conference could get, it would be a massive disappointment if this team misses the playoffs. The Jets won seven games last year with Zach Wilson, Mike White, and Joe Flacco leading them at quarterback.

New York made plenty of big moves this off-season but none of them are as big as acquiring Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers, who has won two of the last three NFL MVP awards, immediately makes the Jets a legit contender.

Even in a down year for Rodgers last season, he still threw 26 touchdown passes and 3700 yards, which would have easily pushed the Jets into the postseason.

The biggest question mark entering the 2023 season will be if everyone stays healthy. New York was relatively healthy last season, especially on defense. If the Jets can replicate that again this season, they should be up there with the best in the AFC.

Garrett Wilson receiving yards: Over 1125.5 (-112)

Garrett Wilson had a really strong rookie season in 2022. He won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and had 1100 receiving yards along with four touchdowns. Wilson did all of this with subpar quarterback play which will take a massive leap this year.

In the limited amount of preseason action where Aaron Rodgers was under center, Garrett Wilson was his top target. In two drives against the New York Giants, Wilson had three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown.

In this offense, Garrett Wilson will be in a similar position to Davante Adams where he will see plenty of targets.

Lastly, when looking at the Jets’ schedule, they play some of the league’s best quarterbacks. Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Patrick Mahomes, and Justin Herbert are all on the Jets slate of games.

As great as the Jets’ defense played last year, they can only do so much. I think New York could be in a few shootouts this year which should give Wilson plenty of touches to come in around 1250 receiving yards.

Quinnen Williams Sacks: Over 8.25 (-102)

Quinnen Williams finally took that massive leap last season to where we all thought he was capable of playing. He was awarded for his dominant season with his first Pro Bowl selection and a First Team All-Pro nod.

Williams finished the 2022 season with 51 total tackles and 12 sacks which was second at his position only behind Chris Jones with 15.5 sacks.

The Jets’ defensive line is one of the best in the NFL. Stacked with young talent, I think they will be able to get after the quarterback as well as any team.

With the quality edge rushers New York has, it should help take some of the pressure off Williams. This could lead to Quinnen seeing more one-on-one reps where he will thrive.

After signing a massive contract extension to remain with the Jets, I think Quinnen follows up last season with another dominant year.
