Breaking down the film from New York Jets’ loss to Kansas City

After a home loss to the rival New England Patriots, extending the streak to fifteen straight losses, Jet fans started to lose hope for the season. A season that started with Super Bowl projections seemed like it may end with the Jets being near the bottom of the barrel, yet again.

The following week, fans walked into MetLife Stadium expecting an absolute blowout at the hands of the defending Super Bowl champs, simply hoping to see some semblance of a game.

But they were treated to much more than that – something that completely changed the outlook of the fanbase, even in defeat.

The Chiefs built an early 17-0 lead. Things were going exactly as the MetLife faithful feared they would. But to everyone’s surprise, the Jets marched back into the game, making it a very unexpected nail-biter up to the final moments.

The main reason New York pulled off the near-comeback? Zach Wilson’s big performance.

Wilson outplayed Patrick Mahomes in a performance that arguably stands as the best of his NFL career. The former No. 2 pick successfully reeled fans back into buying stock in him, just one week after a terrible game against the Patriots where fans were selling whatever stock they had left.

But just how good was Wilson in this game? Was it enough for Jet fans to be hopeful about his future? We seek to answer those questions by breaking down the film.

Another major storyline from this game was the referees and some of their calls or non-calls. Do Jet fans have legitimate cases or are they just bellyaching?

These storylines and many more are broken down and discussed on this edition of Blewett’s Blitz, where we analyze everything you need to know from the Jets-Chiefs film.
