The New York Jets’ social media team had some fun trolling Sean Payton and the Broncos after the 31-21 win
Let the merriment begin for the New York Jets after getting the last laugh against Sean Payton and the Broncos.
Payton raised hackles in the Jets’ locker room and around the NFL during the offseason by ripping Nathaniel Hackett‘s job with the Broncos in 2022. He called it “one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL.” Payton also knocked the Jets for being the offseason champs without actually putting in the work, comparing them to previous “Dream Teams.”
Garrett Wilson expertly trolled Payton during a preseason game in response to the comments. The Jets’ social media team may have one-upped him after the Jets’ 31-21 victory over the Broncos.

If the Jets were the “offseason champs,” what does that make Payton’s Broncos for losing to them?
But the team’s Twitter account wasn’t finished. They next referenced Wilson’s trolling effort.

Sauce Gardner joined in the levity with this Tweet, mocking Russell Wilson’s “Broncos country, let’s ride!” line.

There is ample reason to troll Payton after this Jets victory. The Jets played a sloppy game, filled with penalties and fumbles, and were also down many of their best players. Payton’s play-calling left much to be desired, which is ironic given his ripping of Hackett.
It was a sweet victory for the Jets, who now move on to face a tough task against the 5-0 Philadelphia Eagles next week. For one day, though, the team and its fans can bask in the glory of a revenge game well won.
