J.J. Watt loves Bryce Huff’s game, as the NFL legend raved about the New York Jets’ budding star on “The Pat McAfee Show”
“I love Bryce Huff!”
That’s how future Hall-of-Fame pass rusher J.J. Watt responded to a question about why the New York Jets’ defense has been so good to start the 2023 season on “The Pat McAfee Show”.
“There’s a lot of good names on that defense,” Watt said. “There’s a lot of guys that can play a lot of great football. I think Bryce Huff coming off the edge, he’s got some great pass-rush moves, he’s got some incredible technical skills, and I know right now he’s got a ton of pressures, and maybe not the biggest sack numbers, but that’s a guy that’s been getting back there and making a lot of things happen, and maybe not getting as much shine as he deserves comparatively to the rest of the guys.”

Watt’s high praise of the Jets’ emerging star defender shouldn’t be taken lightly considering he clearly knows a thing or two about playing defensive end at the professional level. The Wisconsin product racked up 114.5 sacks and 195 tackles for loss over his storied 12-year career in Houston and Arizona.
Huff himself definitely appreciated the shoutout, thanking Watt on X/Twitter for recognizing his talents while showing respect for the newly retired former All-Pro.
This means alot coming from the goat himself🐐💯I appreciate it!✊🏾 @JJWatt https://t.co/PXrVzLko9l

Huff, who will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, has seen his league-wide admiration steadily grow over the past few years since joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He is due for a major payday, either from the Jets through an extension or from another team on the open market.
If the Jets are smart, they won’t let a key piece of their surging defense – and a player who is greatly admired by a future first-ballot Hall-of-Famer – ever make it out of the building without a new contract.
