In light of the New York Jets’ tumultuous 2023 season, a creative video details the journey through scenes from “The Office”

Amid another brutal season, fans of the New York Jets are finding creative ways to show the progression of the team in recent seasons.

Created by user “@Zookrueger” on “X,” the video shows the highs and lows of a Jets season, but with a twist. It uses scenes with Michael Scott from the hit TV show “The Office” to depict key Jets moments.

From the offseason hype around the team’s additions to the early-season excitement and, finally, the crashing back down to earth while missing the playoffs, the video has encapsulated the Jet fan experience for most of the team’s playoff drought.

The 2023 season has, unfortunately, followed this exact blueprint. Expectations and excitement were sky-high, especially with the addition of quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

MetLife Stadium was packed on opening night, going through the lows of losing Rodgers to injury and the high of walking off the Bills in overtime.

The Jets then went on a three-game losing streak and lost more key players, such as Alijah Vera-Tucker, to injury. And in typical Jets fashion, they rebounded with three straight wins to inject hope and optimism back into the fanbase.

Then came the fall. The Jets proceeded to lose four straight games, essentially knocking them out of playoff contention.

If the video hits a little close to home, it’s because the Jets seem to have the same formula every season. Hope turns into excitement, which turns into frustration, turning back into hope, and then finally sadness.

Between poor front office and coaching choices, underwhelming on-field performance, and sheer bad luck, the Jets have simply been unable to sustain sustained success for most of the past decade.

These factors have contributed to a playoff drought that is not only one of the longest in the NFL but also in professional sports.

Perhaps in 2024, the Jets finally turn it all around. With a healthy Aaron Rodgers and, hopefully, an improved roster, the team should be positioned to break its playoff drought.

Yet, there is always a possibility that next year brings nothing more than the familiar cycle of another typical Jets season. If that possibility turns into reality, fans will just be able to return to Micheal Scott and follow the formula that has been the team’s DNA for their playoff drought.
