A sale for New York Jets jerseys has people thinking new uniforms could arrive in the 2024 season
Changes are on the horizon for the New York Jets – even to their uniforms.
According to multiple posts on Twitter, a sale is occurring for all versions of the team’s current jerseys. This would include the green, white, and black alternate jerseys released with the team’s rebrand in 2019.

Interestingly enough, the newly released legacy jerseys are not a part of the sale. ESPN Radio’s Jake Asman said in a tweet that it is all but confirmed that the team would be switching to the legacy jerseys this fall.
I’ve been told by several people that the #Jets are going to make the legacy jerseys permanent this offseason now that the 5 year rule is up. Plus, Chris Johnson told @Bklyn929 at the HOF ceremony last summer that this was the plan too.

Whenever an NFL team overhauls its uniforms, they must wait at least five years to change them again. The Jets introduced their current uniforms in 2019, so 2024 marks the opening of their window to make another change.
For Jets fans, the change would be more than welcome. Since being introduced in 2019, the team is 27-56, enduring a brutal five-season run filled with few positive memories.
The Gase-Darnold era was an abject disaster, marked by the “Seeing Ghosts” game and the “Tank for Trevor” season of 2020. And while the Douglas-Saleh era had a brief peak in the first half of 2022, the failures of Zach Wilson and consistently poor offensive line play have defined their tenures.
The legacy uniforms, objectively, are better than the current versions by a long shot. They have a much cleaner design and better reflect the identity of the team.
With Aaron Rodgers returning next season, the team is set to potentially start a new era in the mid-to-late 2020s. As a result, there is no better time for new and improved jerseys.
