The New York Jets’ star cornerback helped give back to his hometown in collaboration with Gamers Outreach
One of the New York Jets’ star players is helping to give back to his community.
On April 26th, star cornerback Sauce Gardner linked with Gamers Outreach to donate four gaming Go-Karts to the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. According to the organization’s tweet, “Sauce’s visit to the hospital included playing video games with patients, bringing immense joy to their day.”

As stated on their website, Gamers Outreach is “a charity that empowers hospitalized families through play. Our goal is to build a world where activity is easily prioritized as part of care. Video games are our tools of choice.”
The organization aims to restore a sense of normalcy in hospitals and help kids heal. Gamers Outreach supports over 400 hospitals in its program and creates 12,400 gaming opportunities daily.
Gardner’s latest actions continue to show why he perfectly represents the Jets on and off the field.
On the field, Gardner’s talents are well known. He shuts down every receiver that goes up against him, which has already earned him two first-team All-Pro selections. Off the field, Gardner is just as remarkable, being an active presence in his community.
Gardner created the Sauce Gardner Family Foundation and hosts a football camp in his hometown of Detroit. As described by The Detroit News, “The camp was created to help under-served teens in Detroit, and Gardner put young football hopefuls through drills and talked about leadership, work ethic and the importance of education.”
Now, Gardner has helped improve children’s lives at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Sauce constantly serves as a reminder of the tremendous good that football players can provide off the field.
