Other currently listed odds for the game are the Jets having +270 odds to win by 1-13 points and +1400 odds to win by 14 points or more. Inversely, the 49ers have +115 odds to win by 1-13 points and +200 odds to win by 14 or more.
These odds will likely change in the coming months, as there is room for both the Jets and 49ers to undergo changes to their teams and in the public eye.
Yet, the early odds show a lack of confidence in the Jets starting off as an elite-level team. The betting public is likely scarred from New York’s lackluster play in 2023 and the slew of injuries they suffered. Once Aaron Rodgers went down, the Jets lost all hope of being truly competitive, and the sportsbooks reflect that sentiment.
Simply put, the Jets have to prove their worth in 2024. No matter how much talent they add to the roster, many will not believe New York is ready to compete until they show it on the field. The Jets can start proving those doubters wrong in Week 1 against the reigning NFC champions.
