3 NY Jets among players most often called ‘frauds’ on social media

Aaron Rodgers is no stranger to doubters, and a social media breakdown indicated that he faces more doubt than any other player.

Social media posters do not believe in Aaron Rodgers’ abilities with the New York Jets

New York Jets fans might be excited about Aaron Rodgers, but social media posters as a whole certainly aren’t.

A study by Free Bets analyzed social media posts on X, Instagram, and Reddit since the 2023 preseason. The social listening tool Brandwatch was used to find the posts about each player. This formula was used: “[INSERT NAME]” AND (washed OR finished OR fraud).

The results were uncompromising: Rodgers is the most washed, finished, and/or fraudulent player in the NFL by a decent margin.

Rodgers is one of three Jets players from the 2023 team who made the list, as he was followed by Zach Wilson (No. 6) and Dalvin Cook (No. 11). Former Jets safety Jamal Adams (No. 15) also made the list. Calling Wilson washed is a stretch considering that he’s never been not washed, but Cook and Adams deserved spots.

Rodgers is certainly no stranger to hate from the public. Media talking heads have consistently gone after him for years. This offseason, countless analysts on ESPN, FOX, and other prominent outlets have said that the Jets have “no hope” and bashed Rodgers’ ability to stay healthy and perform well.

Still, Rodgers thrives on the hate. “We are must-watch TV and that’s pretty obvious. Everybody knows that,” he recently stated. “Whether you love me or hate me. People want to see me play, they enjoy watching me play and we are a team to watch this year. Not surprising. Six primetime games in the first 11 or 12 weeks. I love it.”

The Jets are counting on their 40-year-old quarterback to lead them to the promised land. Travis Kelce lands at No. 2 on this list, and he just helped the Kansas City Chiefs to their second consecutive championship. Perhaps Rodgers can overcome the naysayers and bring a long-sought ring to New York.
