Allen Lazard struggled at Jets OTAs Wednesday
The latest New York Jets OTA session on Wednesday featured a contrast in weapon performances.
On the positive side, tight end Kenny Yeboah impressed, whereas veteran wide receiver Allen Lazard struggled.

For Yeboah, the opportunity is wide open. With C.J. Uzomah gone, New York is looking for a clearcut No. 2 tight end. On Wednesday in Florham Park, NJ, Yeboah caught several balls (mostly from Aaron Rodgers) in team sessions.
Yes, Jeremy Ruckert was also involved, but Yeboah is clearly being placed in solid spots, showcasing the quarterback and coaching staff’s trust.
Conversely, Allen Lazard couldn’t capitalize on two red zone targets from Rodgers.
The first attempt came against rookie cornerback Quan’Tez Stiggers. Rodgers placed the ball in the perfect place—per the front-pylon back-shoulder throw—but Lazard could not separate himself from Stiggers in time to come down with the reception (as the ball flew past both players).
A few plays later, Lazard dropped a low-but-catchable ball near his knees at the front-right pylon.
Rookie Malachi Corley left the Wednesday session early with an injury. He returned to practice but was helmetless and did not participate in any drills.
Xavier Gipson continued to get plenty of love with the first-team offense, as his jet-motion and slot abilities were fully on display. And, of course, Garrett Wilson put up his usually stellar performance.
