Appearing on “Up and Adams,” the star Raiders wide receiver spoke about Aaron Rodgers being in his ear
It appears the New York Jets’ star quarterback is still pushing to add his former running mate to his new team.
Appearing on “Up and Adams,” Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams spoke about Aaron Rodgers trying to bring him to New York.
“Oh, he’s in that ear, that’s for sure. But it’s not as easy. Obviously, we can get together and talk about the old times and the potential of doing this or that. Like I said, I’m a Raider, and he knows that.”

It is fun to imagine Rodgers helping to facilitate Adams’s arrival in New York. He would add another legitimate threat to the Jets’ offense, making life miserable for opposing defenses.
However, it is very difficult to see that move coming to fruition anytime soon. The Raiders are aiming to compete under new head coach Antonio Pierce and could make some noise in the wild card race. The Jets are in a tight cap situation and would likely be hard-pressed to give up extra assets before the season begins.
The true likelihood of a trade will not be known until around the trade deadline. If the Raiders are competing, Adams will remain in silver and black. If the Jets are not living up to expectations, they may want to hold onto assets.
But if the Raiders falter and the Jets play to their potential, an Adams trade would become much easier to envision. It would make sense for both teams, as the Raiders would get assets to facilitate a rebuild while the Jets could go all-in on their push for a Super Bowl in 2024.
For now, though, an Adams trade is unlikely, despite Aaron Rodgers’s best efforts.
