Tensions have been running high throughout training camp as players fight for a spot on the New York Jets’ 53-man roster. However, during Tuesday’s practice, things got a little out of hand, as there were a series of fights one after another.

Star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, cornerback D.J. Reed, center Joe Tippmann, and linebacker Marcelino McCrary-Ball were among the players involved in the skirmishes. Xazavian Valladay was also shoved to the ground.

The first fight involved a large number of players who reportedly “moved off of the field.” Wilson then got into it with Reed, and another fight followed.

Undrafted free agent guard Brady Latham reportedly was “one of the main guys in the middle of things.” It remains unclear whether he was a peacemaker or an instigator, as his helmet was ripped off at one point.

Jets head coach Robert Saleh addressed the team after the third scuffle.

There have been several fights throughout training camp so far, but this is the first fight where a team meeting occurred after tempers flared.

The Jets were not the only team to get into several fights during Tuesday’s practice. There was also a “madness” of fights during the New York Giants’ joint practice with the Detroit Lions.

Fans should expect more training camp fights, as the Jets host their first joint practice against the Washington Commanders on Thursday. The Jets will also have their first preseason contest against the Commanders on Saturday, where they will face off against No. 2 overall pick Jayden Daniels.

The Jets will have joint practices with the Panthers and Giants ahead of preseason games against both teams.
