The New York Jets’ joint practice against the Giants has been full of fireworks – most of them coming from Nos. 8 and 5 in green (well, red in the case of 8).
In one play of team drills, Aaron Rodgers could be seen launching a 55-yard touchdown into the arms of Garrett Wilson.

The crowd erupts into “Garrett Wilson” chants after another 50+ yard score. The Aaron Rodgers ball seemed to hang up there forever, which had me thinking GW would have to fight back for it, but it didn’t happen. #Jets

Wilson cooks Giants cornerback Nick McCloud, and Rodgers drops a perfect lob pass right into the bucket.
It’s also worth noting the quality of the Jets’ pass protection. The starting offensive line of Tyron Smith, John Simpson, Joe Tippmann, Alijah Vera-Tucker, and Morgan Moses provides a pristine pocket for Rodgers to throw from, giving him the space and comfort to launch an accurate pass. It also buys time for Wilson to get open on a deep route.
This touchdown was one of many deep touchdowns recorded by the Jets in a successful joint practice. Wilson had multiple deep scores, while Xavier Gipson and Jason Brownlee also reportedly hauled in long touchdowns. Allen Lazard was active in red zone drills, while Breece Hall also secured a red zone touchdown reception.
New York was dominant in its first joint practice against Washington, while the second joint practice with Carolina was more mixed. Today, it seems like the Jets have been the overwhelmingly dominant team against their cross-town rivals.
It’s only training camp, but Jets fans have to be thrilled to see their team dominating two of its three joint practices – particularly on the strength of numerous explosive plays from Rodgers and Wilson.
