FLORHAM PARK, NJ—Tuesday’s practice at Florham Park, NJ, provided serious clues on how the New York Jets roster will shape up for Week 1.

With the 53-man roster deadline set for 4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, a solid chunk of the Jets’ 90-man training camp roster is already gone.

Check out our New York Jets roster and depth chart page to stay up to date on the latest happenings.

The notable absences—which include Mr. Irrelevant—are as follows:

  • Brandon Codrington
  • Chris Glaser
  • Zack Kuntz
  • Jaylen Key

Some of the bubble players who were practicing with the team include the following players:

  • Jason Brownlee
  • Izzy Abanikanda
  • Takk McKinley
  • Leonard Taylor III
  • Braiden McGregor
  • Xavier Newman
  • Austin Deculus
  • Kohl Levao
  • Austin Seibert

Considering the deadline has yet to arrive, this is by no means official. Head coach Robert Saleh even said as much Tuesday morning before the practice session, claiming that the organization still has cuts to make.

Still, a practice that features far fewer than 90 players is tough to overlook. Save for a rare situation in which a player isn’t on the field, those not practicing Tuesday morning have most likely been cut.

The majority of the players on the field Tuesday morning are primed to make the 53-man active roster or 16-man practice squad (the maximum number with an international exemption is now 17).
