When the New York Jets unveiled their initial 53-man roster, the biggest takeaway was New York’s decision to keep three undrafted rookies on the defensive line: Leonard Taylor, Braiden McGregor, and Eric Watts.
While Watts was a surprising inclusion after a quiet preseason, Taylor and McGregor made undeniable cases for roster spots with their play. Both performed well enough to make it difficult for the Jets to waive them, and New York ultimately decided it could not take the risk of letting them hit the waiver wire.
