A former arch-nemesis of the New York Jets had some surprisingly positive words to say in a recent interview.
Appearing on the “Kay Adams Show,” former Patriots and Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski spoke about where he thinks Davante Adams should end up in a possible trade.

“You gotta build up that chemistry with a quarterback, and it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes years to get on the same page and understand each other. To understand the way the guy throwing you the ball thinks, for the quarterback to understand how his wide reicver thinks. It takes years and years of work,” said Gronkowski.
“That’s why I wanted to play with Tom (Brady) when he went down to Tampa. That’s why I wanted to stick with him…It’s so much better to go into a situation where you already understand the quarterback and where you need to be. It is the best fit for Adams to go to New York and get back with Aaron Rodgers. I believe he will elevate the team to another level.”
Gronk is spot-on with his observations. Chemistry is essential for pass catchers and quarterbacks, usually determining successful and unsuccessful connections. Countless combinations have elevated offenses, such as Brady and Gronk or Mahomes and Kelce.
Adams and Rodgers were at that elite level when they were together in Green Bay. If New York can execute a trade for the star wideout, he could be the missing piece to unlocking the Jets’ offense.
