The New York Jets’ season is over! Until it … isn’t?
With their latest devastating loss still very fresh on the minds of fans, the Jets turned around and made their long-awaited trade for Davante Adams, injecting some semblance of hope back into the downtrodden fanbase. Adams will finally reunite with Aaron Rodgers for the first time since the 2021 season.
Adams will be tasked with bringing life to an offense that is desperately trying to match its immense talent level.
And we know his talent is more than immense.
The Jets showed promising signs of life in their first game with Todd Downing as the offensive playcaller.
They racked up 393 yards of offense and 20 first downs, but they could not overcome their 1-for-4 performance in the red zone.
Adams, who has caught 96 touchdowns in his career, has a chance to help them in that area.
The question is, what will Adams bring to the table at 31 years old? New York is already dealing with the effects of relying on multiple aging players offensively, including Aaron Rodgers and Tyron Smith.
Are the Jets getting the Davante Adams people think they’re getting? Or are they getting a shell of Davante Adams?
That is what we are here to find out. In today’s Blewett’s Blitz film review, we break down the All-22 film from Adams’ three appearances in the 2024 season to see what he has left to offer the Jets offense at this stage of his career. How much should Jets fans really expect from him at this point? It’s all there on film.
