After the New York Jets parted ways with general manager Joe Douglas on Tuesday, an old friend made his voice known. Former Jets safety Jamal Adams wasted no time to throw in his two cents, but perhaps actual sympathy was the man’s tone this time around.
“All jokes aside, I really hope the Jets organization can get it right!” Adams said in a post on X. “The organization & fan base deserve to Win!!”

Adams, who’s currently a free agent after the Tennessee Titans granted him his requested release last month, was selected by the Jets with the sixth overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft, quickly emerging as a premier safety.
Instead of signing Adams to a second contract in 2020, Douglas elected to deal the LSU product to the Seattle Seahawks for two first-round picks and a third-round pick.
Those picks amounted to Alijah Vera-Tucker and Garrett Wilson.
While appearing in 46 games for the Jets, Adams amassed 210 tackles, 12 sacks, four fumble recoveries and two interceptions.
Adams’ message to the Jets to “get it right” underscores the deep frustration of the team’s fanbase, eager for a transformation that delivers results. Furthermore, although some fans won’t believe Adams’s actual sincerity in the typed-out words—thanks to a history of jokester vibes—it appears The Prez does feel empathetic for his former fanbase.
Where the New York Jets go from here is anybody’s best guess, but at least fans now have Jamal Adams feeling for them.
