In the first third of every calendar year, NFL mock drafts are like taxes: you can’t evade them.
With their head coach and general manager in place, New York Jets mock drafts will become the norm until Darren Mougey locks in his first draft class this April. Everyone has an opinion on what New York should do with the seventh overall selection, and every opinion is vastly different.
Former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah had the Jets going offense in his mock draft, while ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. had the Jets going defense. What does the analytics-focused website Pro Football Focus think the Jets should do?
Here is the top 10 of Pro Football Focus’ 2025 NFL mock draft.
- Tennessee Titans: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado
- Cleveland Browns: Cam Ward, QB, Miami
- New York Giants: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
- New England Patriots: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State
- Jacksonville Jaguars: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan
- Las Vegas Raiders: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
- New York Jets: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
- Carolina Panthers: James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee
- New Orleans Saints: Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri
- Chicago Bears: Will Campbell, OL, LSU
With the seventh overall pick, PFF has the Jets adding a partner for Garrett Wilson: Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan. Sans two-way player Travis Hunter, McMillan is the consensus “pure” WR1 in the class.
McMillan was dominant throughout the entirety of his three-year career with the Wildcats. As a true freshman in 2022, McMillan posted 702 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 81 targets. In each of the following two seasons, McMillan had 130 targets, producing a combined 2,712 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. He reached 1,300 yards and eight touchdowns in both seasons.
Jets general manager Darren Mougey has hinted in the past that measurables are an important factor for him when evaluating draft prospects. If that is the case, he will likely be enamored with the 6-foot-5 McMillan. The Arizona product would give New York a big-bodied target opposite the smaller, quicker Wilson.
