No, I did not envision myself writing about an individual named Ice Spice just a day after breaking down Garrett Wilson film. I did not have this article title on my bingo card for today. (And yes, I’m old enough to now think about playing bingo.)
Furthermore, I’m probably the wrong individual to write about this one, considering I have no idea who Ice Spice actually is. (Is she one of the Spice Girls, maybe, or perhaps the next generation?)
Hey, what do you want from me? I’m an old man.
In any event, New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner has recently been spotted with the aforementioned Ice Spice. The following video features Gardner riding down an escalator with Ms. Spice.
Gardner, 24, is fresh off of his worst NFL season. Yet, Sauce’s “worst” season is still most of the league’s cornerbacks’ best.
The Louisville product finished with just 1 interception, 9 passes defended, and 49 total tackles (36 solo) in 15 games this past season. For the first time in his NFL career, he not only failed to be named First-Team All-Pro, but he was also not named to the Pro Bowl team.
What Gardner does in his personal life is totally up to him, and it’s something for which Jets X-Factor has very little interest. However, considering his recent wish to remain a Jet long-term, coupled with the improvement needed to be made to get back to his stellar status in 2025, extra attention will be placed on the young corner.
As far as Gardner’s possible relationship status may or may not be, I could not care less. Unfortunately, we are well aware that others do care, and thus, the potential that the Jets are on the brink of their own “Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift” situation is something many would love to avoid.
Plus, think about it: Ice Spice has been seen alongside Swift in the press box while watching the Kansas City Chiefs. Oof, let’s try to avoid a similar state of affairs at MetLife Stadium, please.
One X (formerly Twitter) account speculated that Gardner and Ice Spice have been friendly for quite some time since the latter was spotted at a Jets game this past September.
Moreover, both Gardner and Ice Spice appeared together on an episode of LeBron James’s “The Shop,” along with Travis Scott.
Hey, if the two are indeed dating, god bless. I can guarantee you that head coach Aaron Glenn won’t care much either way.
All the second-greatest cornerback in New York Jets history will care about is finding a way to push Sauce Gardner to surpass him in the historical franchise rankings.
