According to a recent report, the New York Giants are "significantly" interested in signing New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Now this would spice up the 2025 NFL season in New York City.

Rumors surrounding the New York Giants‘ potential interest in Aaron Rodgers have surfaced in the last week or so, but a recent statement made on “The Pat McAfee Show” has taken things to an entirely new level.

North Jersey’s Art Stapelton told the world the Giants are “significantly interested” in employing the current New York Jets quarterback—for whom the organization already informed it would be “moving on” from him this offseason.

“From my understanding, right now (and you guys may know better than me), they are pretty significantly down the road where they are negotiating to the point where, if Aaron Rodgers winds up as a Giant—before the start of the lean year next year—it would not be a shock to people in his area and at The Meadowlands,” Stapleton told McAfee on Thursday.

Rodgers, 41, has been the topic of much discussion since the Jets decided to part ways in early February. Remember, he’s still officially on the New York Jets roster as a signed employee, which won’t change until his circumstances change on paper.

Per a potential fit with the Giants, the North Jersey Giants writer is firmly under the impression that the team is in the midst of the Rodgers-acquiring process. While Rodgers himself cannot talk to other teams, his representatives can.

“From my understanding, it has to be part of the negotiation,” Stapleton said. “I don’t know how much Aaron can be involved in speaking with the Giants brass—Brian Daboll, Joe Schoen. But as far as Aaron’s representatives, once the Jets made it clear (that they would be moving on), he could have his representatives talk with other teams.”

As far as the Giants being scared away due to extra media attention, more specifically his usual Tuesday spots with McAfee, Stapleton believes the front office doesn’t seem too concerned.

“Yes, they (Giants) have talked about what it would take to get Aaron here, with the Giants, to not leave New Jersey,” Stapleton added. “The Giants have yet to be scared off of Aaron Rodgers coming on some show every Tuesday.”

All in all, the Rodgers-to-the-Giants rumors have been consistent and steady, but nobody truly had a firm grasp on where things stood. How far exactly down the road had the two sides traveled?

According to this latest report, there’s significant interest brewing between Aaron Rodgers and the New York Giants.

“I think from a football fit, this is something that they’re seriously considering.”
