Before Bryce Huff and Tony Adams, the perfect example of success for the New York Jets in the undrafted free agent ranks was Robbie Anderson – now Robbie Chosen.
The former Temple star recorded 207 receptions, 3,059 yards, and 20 touchdowns across four seasons with Gang Green (2016-19). Despite never fielding a winning record, Chosen used those first four years to carve out a strong nine-year career with four different teams.
As the 2025 offseason continues, though, the 31-year-old Chosen is looking to find a new team.
And a reunion in New York is on the table.
Chosen Speaks Out On Jets Reunion
While Chosen may have walked to Carolina in free agency during the 2020 season after a four-year run with New York, he did make a point early in the process that a return to the Jets was something he preferred.
It just never happened.
Now, with his career nearing its end, Chosen is just looking for a chance to play for anyone, and the Jets are absolutely one of those teams.
“I’m open to every team. I don’t want to make it seem like I’m too good for any team,” Chosen said this offseason. “I’m just hoping for a great opportunity, but the Jets would mean a lot. My career started there, and the culture that I know that they’re building and everything. Not to single any team out, but that would be special. It would be nostalgic.”
New York has gone through major changes this offseason with Aaron Glenn leading the team at head coach, and Justin Fields walking in as the projected starting quarterback. Those changes extend even to their receiver room this offseason.
The real debate is whether they should consider it.
Should Jets Bring Back Chosen?
New York is walking into the month of April with serious needs at receiver. They do have a top starter in Garrett Wilson, but major question marks remain behind him with players like Allen Lazard and the recently signed duo of Tyler Johnson and Josh Reynolds.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Jets simply taking a flier on Chosen. It makes sense to see what he has left in the tank while providing competition for young players like Xavier Gipson and Malachi Corley.
Known for his abilities as a deep threat (13.4 career yards per reception, ranked 27th among active players), Chosen brings an element the Jets lack in their receiver room. Seeing what he has left to offer would be worth their while.
