The New York Jets have officially solidified their offensive line for the 2025 season.

With the No. 7 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, general manager Darren Mougey selected right tackle Armand Membou. Interestingly, former Jets general manager Joe Douglas believes Mougey and Aaron Glenn got it right.

Appearing on FOX Sports Radio’s “Draft Night Live,” Douglas praised Mougey’s first draft selection as an NFL GM.

“I think this is a really good first pick for AG [Aaron Glenn] and Mougey,” said Douglas.

Heading into the draft, the Jets had addressed most of their offensive line, with Olu Fashanu, Joe Tippmann, John Simpson, and Alijah Vera-Tucker projected as starters. All four players joined the team courtesy of the Douglas regime.

The lone question mark was at right tackle. New York filled that void in the first round by selecting Membou.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and 332 pounds, the Missouri product turned heads in Indianapolis by clocking a 4.91-second 40-yard dash—an elite time for a player of his size. He also posted explosive numbers with a 34-inch vertical leap and a 115-inch broad jump, contributing to a Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 9.89, placing him among the most athletic offensive linemen ever recorded.

His on-field production matched the measurables. Membou was a pillar of consistency in 2024, not surrendering a single sack or quarterback hit over 411 pass-blocking snaps. He allowed just eight total pressures and earned an 87.6 run-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus.

Glenn and Mougey have shown that they will retool this roster, starting in the trenches, and provide quarterback Justin Fields with a strong wall. They will attempt to provide him with all the tools he needs to succeed and be the much-awaited long-term answer under center for Gang Green.
