After signing with the New York Jets in March, quarterback Justin Fields appears comfortable in the New York spotlight.
Fields was back at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, attending Game 5 of the first-round playoff series between the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons.
After winning both games in Detroit, the Knicks returned home looking to close out the series, but ultimately fell short in a narrow 106–103 loss, forcing a Game 6 back in Detroit.
This wasn’t Fields’ first visit to MSG this season. On April 1, the 26-year-old was seen signing a football and tossing it into the crowd during the Knicks’ 105–91 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Fields’ appearances at local sporting events have spanned beyond Manhattan. He was also recently spotted in the Bronx, where he called Aaron Judge’s home run that helped lift the Yankees to a win over the Kansas City Royals.
Fields signed a two-year deal worth up to $40 million with $30 million guaranteed this offseason and was named the team’s starting quarterback for the 2025 season during the league’s annual owners meetings.
Originally drafted No. 11 overall by the Chicago Bears in 2021, Fields is now on his third NFL team since entering the league.
The former Ohio State Buckeye spent the 2024 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, starting six games and leading them to a 4–2 record before being benched in favor of Russell Wilson.
Fields enters 2025 with a chance to solidify the Jets’ future under center.
