The next stage of the 2025 offseason workout plan is about to begin this week for the New York Jets.

This time, the focus is on the rookie class.

All newcomers for the Jets, including the team’s 2025 NFL draft class, undrafted free agent group, and any minicamp invitees, are scheduled to come to Florham Park, NJ, this coming week for rookie minicamp—a three-day practice session for all newcomers to get acclimated to the increased speed of the NFL.

Today, we detail the exact dates.

Jets rookies are soon to report

From May 9 through May 11, the New York Jets rookies will report to the Atlantic Health Jets Training Center. The usual meetings and workout will then commence, preparing them to get up to speed when the rest of the team joins them for OTA work in a little over a month.

The rookies will meet for around 10 hours per day (the league max) over three days, about 40 to 60 players per team, as part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement by the NFL and the NFLPA (Players’ Association).

It’ll also be the Jets’ first chance to see some of their top prospects.

New York drafted future starters like right tackle Armand Membou and tight end Mason Taylor within the first two days of the draft. Both players are expected to fight for playing time early in their rookie seasons.

There are other notable rookies incoming as well.

Late-round picks—like Georgia wideout Arian Smith—will get their first crack at the NFL. Others, such as linebacker Francisco Mauigoa and edge rusher Tyler Baron, will look to prove they belong at the NFL level.

Then there are the UDFAs (undrafted free agents).

College stars like running back Donovan Edwards want to prove they should have been drafted, while Missouri quarterback Brady Cook is planning to compete for a roster spot on the New York Jets depth chart.

There will be no shortage of storylines when the Jets open for minicamp. New York gets their first crack at the group later in the week.

What is rookie camp?

Like the development camp in the NHL, rookie camp is a chance for NFL teams to get their first look at the incoming rookie class. During that time, player invitees and draft picks get the opportunity to make a first impression on their team’s coaches.

It’s also an excellent chance for underrated players to show they belong at the NFL level. That is what happened to Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen.

Thielen was a D-II college standout invited to rookie camp with the Minnesota Vikings. He quickly showed his stuff and became one of the best receivers in the game.

Theilen is still playing professional football after 11 seasons.

Will the New York Jets find their version of Adam Thielen over the next week of action? Only time will tell, but the rookie class will get their first chance to make an immediate impact heading into the 2025 season.
