The 2025 schedule is out for the New York Jets.
New York kicks off the Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey era with a schedule that ranks 16th-easiest based on projected win totals in 2025.
It’s time for our “way-too-early” 2025 schedule prediction for the team.
Predicting Jets 2025 Schedule
As always, these predictions can change over the course of the offseason. Injuries during training camp, trades, and releases alter rosters completely through the summer months.
That being said, it’s never too early to predict how well the Jets will do this season.
So let’s get to it.
Week 1: vs. PIT, 1:00 p.m. – Win (1-0)
This seems like the inevitable “Aaron Rodgers vs. his former team” game, but Pittsburgh isn’t anything to get excited over. New York can start out on the right foot here.
Week 2: vs. BUF, 1:00 p.m. – Win (2-0)
This game reminds me of when the Jets upset the New England Patriots in 2009 to move to 2-0. The fact that this game is in New Jersey (where Josh Allen has 12 turnovers in six road games against the Jets) gives me confidence in Glenn’s squad pulling off a stunner early in the year.
Week 3: @ TB, 1:00 p.m. – Loss (2-1)
Here is where their first slide begins. Tampa Bay’s defense should be much improved, and any game in Florida during September is a nightmare for the road team. Take Baker Mayfield and that offense here.
Week 4: @ MIA, MNF – Loss (2-2)
A very similar situation to the week prior. I don’t like any matchup for the Jets on the road in their division this year. In their first prime time game under Glenn, the Jets drop their second straight.
Week 5: vs. DAL, 1:00 p.m. – Loss (2-3)
Dallas always looks like world beaters early in the season, and this game will be no different. I’ll take Dak Prescott on the road against a reeling Jets team here.
Week 6: vs. DEN in London, 9:30 a.m. – Win (3-3)
New York has owned Denver away from the confines of their home stadium, taking the last two matchups at Mile High. I like them in this matchup again in London simply because I believe Bo Nix is in for a major sophomore slump.
Week 7: vs. CAR, 1:00 p.m. – Win (4-3)
Carolina will be a much-improved team this year, but it won’t be enough to get a road win against the Jets’ rushing attack. The Panthers have struggled in recent years to stop the run, and I don’t believe that is going to change here.
Week 8: @ CIN, 1:00 pm – Loss (4-4)
Joe Burrow vs. Justin Fields. No contest. The Bengals roll at home, but the Jets getting to the bye week at 4-4 is a very promising start.
Week 9: BYE
Truth be told, having a bye in Week 9 is sort of perfect, as it cuts the season into two halves.
Week 10: vs. CLE, 1:00 p.m. – Win (5-4)
The Browns are going to be in contention for the top overall pick this year. Outside of Myles Garrett, there really isn’t a lot of talent there. I like the Jets at home here.
Week 11: @ NE, TNF – Loss (5-5)
Here begins New York’s second bad stretch of the season. A Thursday night loss on the road to New England, coupled with their upcoming schedule, will have Jets fans thinking a bad stretch is coming.
Week 12: @ BAL, 1:00 p.m. – Loss (5-6)
A road back-to-back against the Patriots and Ravens isn’t going to be pretty. Lamar Jackson is a matchup nightmare for the Jets’ defense.
Week 13: vs. ATL, 1:00 p.m. – Win (6-6)
New York gets back in the win column against a Falcons team that I simply do not trust at this point. While they have improved their pass rush, there are a ton of questions surrounding their quarterback, and that is enough for me to give the Jets another home win.
Week 14: vs. MIA, 1:00 p.m. – Loss (6-7)
The first step for the Jets is to play competitive football into December. The next step is winning in the division. This is the kind of loss that Jets fans fear will tank the rest of the season.
Week 15: @ JAX, 1:00 p.m. – Loss (6-8)
Something about the Florida teams on the road. While New York did beat Jacksonville last season, Trevor Lawrence is back and gets revenge on the Jets from last season when they beat Mac Jones.
Week 16: @ NO, 1:00 p.m. – Win (7-8)
At 6-8, the Jets’ playoff hopes may be all but dead, but they end the season on a high note, starting with a road win against a really bad Saints roster.
Week 17: vs. NE, 1:00 p.m. – Win (8-8)
The Jets win their second in a row, this time against the Patriots, completing what is expected to be a strong season at home for New York. Counting a “home game” in London, the Jets finish 7-2 as hosts.
Week 18: @ BUF, TBD – Win (9-8)
A sweep of the Bills? In this economy? I fully expect Buffalo to be sitting their starters in this game, so it gives the Jets a chance to take a major step forward and finish over .500 for the first time in nearly a decade.
Final Prediction: 9-8, no playoffs
