Versatility is a top priority for New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn.

Running back Breece Hall embodies that trait.

As Hall works to bounce back from a difficult 2024 season, quarterback Justin Fields has taken notice of his impact early in camp. New York’s starting quarterback praised the fourth-year backโ€™s ability to contribute in both the run and pass games.

“Breece’s hands, when I first got here, they surprised me,” said Fields. “He had a number of catches yesterday, whether it was from the receiver spot, the slot, or the backfield, catching the ball, and we’re going to utilize him in that way.”

After a breakout campaign in 2023, Hall took a step back last season, unable to recapture the explosiveness that once made him one of the NFLโ€™s most dynamic dual-threat backs.

Even with a revamped offensive line in front of him, the former Iowa State star struggled to find consistent lanes, finishing with 876 rushing yards, a noticeable dip from the 994 he posted the year before.

Hall’s yards-per-carry average fell to a career-low 4.2, and ball security became a concern as he fumbled six times, doubling his total from his first two pro seasons combined.

In 2023, Hall led all NFL running backs with 591 receiving yards. This past season, he dropped to fourth in the category with 483 yards.

Hall’s versatility remains a focal point in New Yorkโ€™s offense as he aims to reestablish himself as one of the leagueโ€™s premier all-purpose threats in 2025.
