The injuries are starting to pile up for the New York Jets as they push deeper into training camp.

Speaking to the media after Tuesday morning’s practice, head coach Aaron Glenn provided updates on a multitude of injuries. Most notably, rookie tight end Mason Taylor has a high ankle sprain and will miss at least a week.

Backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor is being evaluated for a knee injury, although it is not considered a long-term issue.

Defensive end Will McDonald (back spasms), defensive tackle Byron Cowart (ankle), and cornerback Azareye’h Thomas (shoulder) are also dealing with ailments.

Running back Breece Hall briefly left Tuesday’s practice with a trainer, but returned to team drills shortly after.

Despite the injuries, Glenn plans to continue ramping up the intensity at Jets training camp. He described his intention to get the team “calloused” in preparation for Week 1.

“The dog days of camp, it’s not fun for anybody, but it’s necessary. Our guys went out there and got a good amount of reps today, and practice was built to be that way. We’re going to continue to do that, because we got to get our guys ready to play 65 or 70 plays a game.

“So, as we continue through training camp, you’re going to see us progress as far as reps are concerned. I said that earlier in the week, and our guys know that. We’re going to continue to fight, and make sure that we get ourselves calloused and ready for the first week.”

In just four days, the Jets will kick off their 2025 preseason with a Saturday night exhibition at Lambeau Field, where they will kick off against the Green Bay Packers at 8 p.m. ET.
