The New York Jets are off to a 0-2 start in the 2025 NFL season, and longtime radio host Mike Francesa has already grown weary of head coach Aaron Glennโ€™s โ€œtough guyโ€ persona.

In the aftermath of Sundayโ€™s 30-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills, the Sports Pope ripped into Glennโ€™s “routine”, emphasizing that the act โ€œwill only take him so far.โ€

“Aaron can give you the tough guy routine, but here is the deal: he has to realize that the tough guy routine will only take him so far. He has some credibility as a player, but he does not have a lot as a coach, and he has none as a head coach,” said Francesa.

“That act works better when you have won Super Bowls, when you have won championships, when you have won playoff games, you can do it when you are [Bill] Parcells, you can do it when you are [Bill] Belichick, you can’t do it when you have never won anything as a coach, it won’t last long, so he has got to tip toe a fine line there.”

Glenn grew testy with reporters after Sundayโ€™s loss, repeating โ€œI gotta look at the filmโ€ to three straight questions and flat-out ignoring one about the teamโ€™s passing struggles.

With the Jets getting off to a rough 0-2 start and Glenn already clashing with the media, Francesaโ€™s criticism sheds light on a growing question in New York: how long can the rookie head coach lean on a โ€œtough guyโ€ routine before the losses overwhelm his message?
