After New York Jets linebacker Quincy Williams suffered a shoulder injury during the team’s 29-27 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Jets have signed linebacker Mark Robinson off of the New England Patriots’ practice squad, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Robinson is set to take Williams’ roster spot. The Jets’ veteran linebacker will be placed on injured reserve and miss at least four games.
A seventh-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft out of Mississippi, Robinson has appeared in 41 career games, including four starts, with previous stints in New England and Pittsburgh.
Robinson has recorded 48 tackles (33 solo), one sack, and three forced fumbles. Most of his work has come on special teams, where he has logged 689 snaps, recording 11 tackles, four missed tackles, and four penalties.

Team captain Jamien Sherwood has drawn the harshest spotlight. Opposing quarterbacks have picked on him with precision, completing all 11 attempts thrown his way for 118 yards and a touchdown. The result: a glaring 141.7 passer rating when targeted, a figure that shows just how much he has struggled to start the season.
Meanwhile, Williams is coming off a game in Tampa Bay where he tied with Andre Cisco for a team-high three missed tackles.
Robinson will join Francisco Mauigoa and Cam Jones as the Jets’ linebackers behind Sherwood. Linebacker Marcelino McCrary-Ball is also being placed on injured reserve.
As the Jets’ defense looks to get back on track, Robinson is scheduled to join the action on Monday Night as New York faces off against its winless division rival, the Miami Dolphins.
