The New York Jets have made their second defensive roster addition of the day.
After signing linebacker Mark Robinson off the New England Patriots’ practice squad, the Jets have traded for Tennessee Titans cornerback Jarvis Brownlee, according to a report from Jordan Schultz. New York and Tennessee will exchange late-round picks in the 2026 draft.
According to the Jets’ official X account, New York is swapping a 2026 sixth-round pick for a 2026 seventh-round pick.
Brownlee, 24, was chosen by Tennessee in the fifth round of the 2024 draft. Across two seasons, the Florida State and Louisville product has played 19 games (16 starts), logging 92 total tackles (nine for loss), 10 passes defended, one interception, and one fumble recovery.
Until this past weekend’s matchup against the Colts, Brownlee had not missed a game for the Titans in his brief career. He was added to the injury report on Thursday with an ankle injury and did not suit up against Indianapolis. Just three days later, he’s off to New York.
In his rookie season, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound corner struggled in coverage, allowing 55 of 81 targets to be caught (67.9%) for 663 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception. He also committed nine penalties.
However, Brownlee excelled as a run defender, tying for 12th at the position with 11 run stops and earning a 77.7 run defense grade from Pro Football Focus.
Through two games in 2025, Brownlee performed similarly. In coverage, Brownlee allowed 8 of 10 targets to be completed for 59 yards and a touchdown, while he committed three penalties in the season-opening loss to Denver. He continued excelling as a run defender, though; Brownlee remains tied for the 2025 lead among cornerbacks with five run stops, and his run defense grade has jumped to 83.5.
Brownlee has primarily played outside cornerback in his career (78% of snaps), although the Titans occasionally used him in the slot or even in the box.
Pending a corresponding roster move, Brownlee joins a Jets cornerback unit featuring Sauce Gardner, Brandon Stephens, Michael Carter II, Azareye’h Thomas, and Qwan’tez Stiggers.
