New York Jets running back Breece Hall punched in a two-yard touchdown to put his team on top in Week 13.

A disjointed football game ensues on what could only be described as a sloppy Sunday afternoon near the swamps of Northern New Jersey. A sloppy Atlanta Falcons play set up Hall’s touchdown.

Punt returner Jamal Agnew muffed an Austin McNamara punt, which gave Chris Banjo’s special teams a chance to impact this one in a big way.

Sophomore cornerback Qwan’tez Stiggers was Johnny on the spot, recovering the fumble near the goal line (as, assuredly, plenty of Jets’ cover specialists were screaming not-so-nice things as McNamara’s punt was falling into the fair-catch hands of Agnew).

Unfortunately for Aaron Glenn’s team, veteran Kirk Cousins engineered a two-minute drive of his own. Marching 62 yards on 10 plays in 3:01 of game action, Atlanta capped things off with a tough-running Tyler Allgeier 1-yard touchdown.

The two teams head to halftime with 7-7 showing on the MetLife Stadium scoreboard.

The stat sheet

Hall leads the way for the Jets, having rushed for 32 yards and a score on eight carries. Tyrod Taylor completed 6 of 10 passes for a less-than-pedestrian 37 yards, while Mason Taylor caught two balls for 21 yards.

On the other side of the ball, Bijan Robinson has clearly been the man of the first half. His 90 yards on 13 carries represent the Jets’ main issue to target and clean up as they cultivate their second-half adjustments.

Kirk Cousins put forth an efficient two quarters, completing 11 of 15 passes for 86 yards.
